Satyawati College (M) Launches Unnat Bharat Abhiyan
Satyawati college (M), University of Delhi launched its action plan regarding Unnat Bharat Abhiyan a flagship programme of Ministry of Human resource Development through an awareness generation programme on 23rd April 2022. Taking forward the mission of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan to enable Higher Education Institutions to work with the people of rural India in identifying development challenges and evolving appropriate solutions for accelerating sustainable growth it constituted an Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Cell under the guidance of the Institution head, Principal, Prof. Nirmal Jindal.
Prof. Nirmal Jindal believes in inculcating in students a sense of responsibility towards establishing a better and an egalitarian society. Through partnering with Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, she has encouraged the faculty and students to engage in identifying development issues, both human and material in an integrated way for the betterment of village communities. Satyawati college (M) has selected a cluster of five villages namely Kasan (Kaithal), Khubru (Sonipat), Pipli Khera (Sonipat), Rajlu (Sonipat), and Dhanana (Bhiwani). The team led by Dr. Neelu Anita Tigga, Co-Ordinator of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, Satyawati College (M), consisting of teachers and students of various departments would take up detailed field study of the villages adopted. This would assist the institution to identify 3 core issues common among all the villagers and would enable the institution to recognize and select existing innovative technologies, customization of technologies, devise implementation methods for innovative solutions as required by the people.

UBA Awareness Generation Programme

The maiden event of the UBA was an awareness generation program conducted in college auditorium graced by symbols of women power, Prof. Urvashi Sharma from the Deptt of Commerce, Delhi school of Economics, member Governing Body , Satyawati College; and Dr.Anamika Singh, Sr. Lecturer, Department of Botany, Maitreyi College,University of Delhi in addition to Principal, Prof Nirmal Jindal, faculty members and students of the college. The program was attended by 500+ students from the college. The chief guest of the event emphasized the relevance of the UBA by channelizing youth energies towards identifying developmental needs in chosen villages. Dr. Anamika shared her experience of active engagement in UBA activities in Maitreyi College. She explained step wise how to proceed with our efforts towards reaching out to villages and creating awareness regarding basic things such as clean water and education. Prof Urvashi showed her willingness to join students visits to some of these villages.
The event was a curtain raiser for most present and helped prepare students and staff mentally for the challenge ahead.
