Dr. Nirmal Jindal, an alumnus of Hindu College, University of Delhi has more than 38 years of teaching experience in Delhi University. At present she is the Acting Principal of Satyawati College, Delhi University. Her area of interest is International Relations with the main focus on foreign policies, nuclear strategies, defence, security, peace and conflict resolution. She has published several books such as (1)War as a Political Weapon in the Nuclear Age and (2) US Foreign Policy: Issues and Perspectives. She has edited books: (1) Global Politics: Issues and Perspectives and (2) International Relations: Theory and Practice. She has published more than 25 articles in journals and books of national and international repute.She has travelled widely and presented more than 70 research papers at national and international conferences including International Studies Association (ISA) conference held at Portland, USA, and Forum of Federations Conference organized at University of St Gallen, Switzerland. Dr Nirmal Jindal has been a recipient of a Fulbright (predoctoral) fellowship for research at the Center for Science and International Affairs, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University (1984–1985), USA. She was also awarded a Diploma in advanced international studies from the Department of Peace and Conflict Resolution, Uppsala University, Sweden (1991). In the year 2017, she was awarded the College Lecturer Award, Directorate of Higher Education, Government of NCT of Delhi. Apart from teaching in the Department of Political Science, Satyawati College, University of Delhi, she has been a visiting faculty to the Department of Political Science, University of Delhi; the Internal Security Academy, Central Reserve Police Force Academy(CRPF), Mount Abu; and the Centre for Professional Development and Higher Education(CPDHE), University of Delhi and Foreign Service Institute, Ministry of External Affairs. At present, she is working on ‘India as an emerging power in the changing global order’. She has also participated in panel discussions on foreign policy and security issues on Zee News, NDTV and other channels several times. Her contribution for the cause of flight safety and imparting training to Indian civilians at a young age is covered by several national and international print and electronic media including Fox Life, NDTV, Zee News, Time magazine, Harmony magazine, Hindustan Times and India Today. She is a member of various professional organizations and NGOs and associated with weekly webinar series of Kalinga Institute of Indo- Pacific Studies (KIIPs) and Association of Asian Scholars (AAS).
